The Comfiest Cardigan
Top: Target
Cardigan: Nordstrom
Jeans: Old Navy
Booties: Charlotte RusseI decided to head to Yerington this weekend because I needed a little break and our water heater was broken. We ended up boiling some water in order to be able to shower, just like the good old Mexico days when my parents would take us. I had a great weekend with one of my friends and decided to make the most of the few night locations in Yerington. If you have ever been there before you probably have made the conclusion that there is not much to do, but that was the point when we were younger. It gave all of us a creative mind to think of things to do.
Anyways, this outfit is from the prior week but I decided to share it with you all. I received this cardigan about two weeks ago and decided it was time to take off the tag and put it to use. I purchased it on major sale from Nordstrom. I checked on their website and they only have the blue one in stock, so instead I linked a similar one down below in the slideshow. I decided to pair it with this long sleeve top that I purchased awhile ago from Old Navy. I love shopping at Old Navy, but I tried finding the similar one that I am wearing and couldn’t seem to find it. However, I did decide to link a similar one to the post.
I was debating to wear my neutral toned booties or these burgundy ones. I decided to go ahead with the burgundy pair to match the shirt a little more. I purchased my booties from Charlotte Russe and if you have been following me for awhile you know I shop a lot there. I just love finding different styles for booties and Charlotte Russe has them. Today they have a 20%-50% off sale on their entire website, go check it out!

How To Start Off a Productive Month

Starting a new month can be one of two things, an “oh just another month” or it can be a “what will I accomplish this month?” These are two different mindsets and most of the time I am in the first mindset. I think of another month just like any other month, but this year I have true goals I want to accomplish. I want to start every month on a good note and know what I hope to accomplish and stay organized.
I want to share with you some of my tips on how I start a new month and how I stay organized. Balancing school, work, gym, and our everyday life can be exhausting, and it is so common for us to give up something because we are “too tired” or “too busy.” I believe that if you plan out your schedule you can avoid these excuses. However, I always keep in mind that as much as I plan something, things always end up changing.
One of the biggest things that helps me stay organized and ready for a new month is my motivation. There are many times when I don’t want to do something or feel like giving up but I always dig deep to what keeps me going. The number one thing that I value and find so much inspiration from is my family. I could not be the person I am today, or have the values I have today, if it weren’t for them. So as I go through my day, my week, and my month, I always reflect on what motivates me to keep pushing through and accomplishing my goals. As you read the below tips, think about what motivates you because if there is some kind of motive you are more likely to get through anything that comes your way.
Tip #1:
Write in your calendar
If you don’t have a calendar, I strongly suggest you purchase one and actually USE it. If you want to use a bigger calendar to better plan out your month check out this one under $10, here. If you are more likely to use your phone rather than an old school calendar then that can work just as fine. Owning a calendar is different than using a calendar. At the start of a new month I always write what my goals are and what major events I have going on. This way, if anything comes up during the week I already know what was planned ahead. It is also a good overview of what your month will look like. I always write down birthdays because you don’t want to forget those! Use your calendar on daily basis to write down your tasks for the day. If you don’t use your calendar use a notepad like I do. I write what I need to accomplish before the day is over, and this helps me get closer to my monthly goal.Tip #2:
Set your goals
I kind of mentioned this in Tip #1, but really make an effort to write down your monthly goals. I would use a creative notepad to keep you motivated like this one. A lot of people set yearly goals but never break them down into steps. They decide a huge goal like buying a home, but don’t set small milestones to accomplish them each month. Write down your goals for the month that relate to your overall goal for the year. This motivates me at the start of a new month because I have something to look forward to. However, once I accomplish it that doesn’t mean I stop there. You want to continue growing and have a growth mindset. The reason I also set my goals is because that helps me focus on now rather than later. I want to accomplish things now not next month or next year. I strive to live in the present and accomplish things today, even if it as little as making someone smile.Tip #3:
If you want free time, work hard now & relax later
Many times we always stress on having to work so hard and never taking a break. The truth is a lot of us have a full time job that consists of working 5 days out of the 7. This means most of your time is spent working, and not enough free time. However, one tip that I have to help you have a productive month is work hard one week so you can relax the next. Of course, don’t burn yourself out either! For example, I wake up every day at 4:30 am to get to the gym, then work, then back home to blog or take pictures, post, make dinner, etc. If I want to make some time for free time during this busy day I will draft my blog posts on a Sunday so that avoids having to work on them during the week. Sometimes you just have to work hard now to relax later. Your future self will thank you!

Reward yourself
Staying organized and being productive is not easy and sometimes takes awhile to get used to balancing your schedule. We want to focus on the end goals at the start of the month, but we also must reward our progress and not focus so much on the outcome. If the first week of the month you accomplished all your goals and had some free time…take advantage of it! Don’t let the free time go to waste and enjoy it by rewarding yourself for your own hard work. I tend to be hard on myself, but I also believe that you are your number one cheerleader. You are the only one that can talk to your brain and keep it more motivated than someone else trying to do the same. Of course, rewarding yourself does not mean going crazy and buying yourself something expensive every month. It does mean that you see the improvements you are making during the week that ultimately help accomplish your end goal, and you reward yourself for the steps you’ve taken this far. However, not all weeks will consist of pure accomplishments. If you don’t get something done, plan out how you will get it done the next week. Do not get discouraged!I hope you found some inspiration to start your month off on a good note. Please comment down below some of your tips on staying organized. I would love to hear some!
Easy Enchilada Recipe

Mondays can be a little overwhelming. It’s the start of a new week, and usually all of us are running a little late on something. I always want to stay organized when it comes to what I am cooking for dinner. Alonso and I usually make a list on Sunday so we know what to expect to make each night. If not, we are always asking each other the same question, what should we make for dinner? This usually takes an hour deciding what to make first and then another hour or so making it.
Today I wanted to share with you an easy dinner recipe and my favorite, enchiladas! I know how to make them from scratch but if I can avoid the hassle then I am up for it. All of the items I used will be mentioned at the end of this blog post. Most of the products can be found at any grocery store.
Usually, Alonso and I just like to eat our enchiladas with rice and avoid the beans. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE beans but sometimes I don’t have the time to put them in the crockpot before I leave to work. My rice is pretty simple to make and the sauce is made from scratch. I know they sell the tomato sauce in a can, but I have always made my rice from scratch and prefer it that way. I didn’t add the recipe for the rice in this post, but if you would like one, please let me know and I can make a blog post on it. I usually make about 14 enchiladas so Alonso and I can both have leftovers for the next day.
One of my favorite bloggers/vloggers that posts a lot of food recipes is Laura Vitale. A couple of years ago she shared a green enchilada sauce recipe from scratch, check it out on her blog here. She even shared some other yummy Mexican recipes like the picture below. I also love to follow Rosanna Pansino, she shares a lot of yummy treat ideas to make. Her website can be found, here.

Credit: Laura Vitale Now, here are the instructions and ingredients for my chicken enchiladas:
Ingredients/items:
- 14 corn tortillas (for 2-3 people)
- Green Chile Enchilada Sauce
- 2 Chicken Breasts
- Mozzarella Cheese
- Foil
- Salt
Instructions:
- CHICKEN: Grab a pan and add water to boil the chicken breasts until tender, and also add a pinch of salt.
- RICE: While the chicken is boiling, I like to get started on the rice. If you want a recipe on my rice, please let me know in the comments below.
- Once the chicken breasts are tender I start to shred the chicken.
- I heat up the pan where I heat the tortillas in and start with four at a time.
- I also pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees fahrenheit.
- I grab the heated tortilla and add a little bit of mozzarella cheese and some chicken. The reason I add mozzarella with the chicken is because it tastes so much better this way. You not only get the cheese from the top but also when you take a bite.
- I curl it up into a little burrito and add it to the pan where I will later add the sauce.
- Once I have repeated step 6 for all 14 tortillas, I start to add the sauce from the can. I make sure I cover the tortilla really well with the sauce.
- Once I have added the entire sauce from the can, I add mozzarella cheese. There is not an amount on the cheese, if you want more go ahead and add more.
- I cover the pan with foil and put it in the oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted. The sauce heats up fairly quickly, but if you want, you can heat it up before adding it to the pan of enchiladas.
- I then add my rice and avocado. You are more than welcome to add anything else.
That is it! A super quick and easy enchilada recipe that only takes about 30-45 minutes to make. I love easy dinner recipes. Please comment down below some of your favorite easy dinner recipes.
Fitted Plaid Top
Outfit Details:
Jacket: H&M (similar) // Top: Hollister (similar options) // Jeans: Express // Shoes: Sperry (similar ones) // Bag: Forever 21 (similar)
One of the many things I strive for is making myself comfortable in anything I wear. This outfit is perfect for running errands on the weekend or any day that you don’t feel like getting ready. I purchased this Hollister top over 6 months ago and never got around to wearing it. I was heading out to pick up some items at Home Depot because we are in the process of remodeling our home. I am so excited and I will keep you updated here on the blog.
My jeans are the comfiest jeans I’ve ever purchased. I love jeans from Express, or let me clarify, jeggings. They are fitted but at the same time stretchy. I usually purchase mine from the Express Outlet store, but I linked some from the Express website that are very similar. As for my shoes they are old, but I found some similar ones from Sperry. I love combing patterns with pops of color. I know it can be a little intimidating purchasing shoes that stand out, but they can be very versatile if paired with the right tops.
In other news, I also wanted to share with you my recent upload on YouTube. I created a get ready with me video that included details on my makeup, hair, and outfit. I personally find these videos very helpful because you are able to see how I style from head to toe a certain look. Please let me know what you guys think by leaving a comment on my video here or click on the video down below.

I have been purchasing some items recently for the new season and have been loving the sales. Today, Nordstrom had a 40% off sale and I was tempted on picking up a couple more pieces, but decided to hold off until I receive the items I linked in this post. We are still having cold weather here in Reno, NV, since it has been raining almost every day. I will have to wait a little longer to wear some of these pieces.
I did want to mention some shoes that have been trending this past year and even this year. The original Chloe Lauren Wedge is around $660. I had been on the lookout for some dupes, and had been super close to purchasing them, but I never completed my purchase. However, I finally got around to purchasing them and I’m so excited for them. They were only $60, and I picked up two in the color Taupe and Cognac.
I also wanted to share some of my tips on transitioning to spring. I know we have about one month left of winter, so I figured this would be the perfect time. Similar to fall, it is easier to wear neutral shoes and combine them with different colored tops. This way, you don’t have to worry so much about finding the perfect shoe to fit the rest of your outfit.
It is also still important to keep some of your thinner cardigans during the transition. Reno can still get chilly during spring so I always like to keep my cardigans as a layer. As for tops, I still like using some of my thinner long sleeves because they won’t be too cold or too hot during the spring. It can be hard purchasing a whole new wardrobe each season, but I always try to purchase more tops rather than more bottoms. They are cheaper and you can always mix and match with bottoms.
Once the weather gets nicer I will start posting some spring outfits. Please check out and follow my Instagram.
