Blue Stripes with a Pop of Red
[slideshow_deploy id=’1976′]
Happy Monday friends! I apologize for the lack of blog posts these past two weeks. However, I have some exciting posts for this week. I wanted to share this quick striped outfit to start off the week. I love to wear striped tops and even more if they are off the shoulder.
Off the shoulder tops are very trendy for the summer time and even more because they are perfect for those hot days. I purchased my top from Target not too long ago and also got it on sale. It was a win win in my book. I got my top in size medium for comparison but I might have even liked going a size up because I love loose tops.
My jeans were purchased on sale from American Eagle for about $25, and you can find them here. They are some of my favorite because ripped jeans are so comfy on me, especially the jegging material. Now let’s talk about the sandals! I purchased them also on sale from Target for $20. It was a nice deal and I had been eyeing them for quite some time so I finally decided to pull the trigger.
Overall, my entire outfit was pretty affordable and I love that you can take away pieces and add some accessories and it can still look great. Target has a ton of items that are always on sale and I love to pick things up that are affordable and I can wear on an everyday basis.

Buying a Home at 21 Years Old [Pros & Cons]
Growing up with such hard working parents allowed me the opportunity to develop some of those characteristics and work hard for all of my goals and aspirations. At such a young age, I had always wanted to purchase a home for my parents, more on that here. It had always been a goal of mine, but it had also been my goal to one day own my home and finally have a place to call “home”. With this in mind, I always knew that anything I did was to help accomplish that goal.
I have an older brother who purchased a home at such a young age and he also inspired me to pursue the same goal. However, balancing full-time school and part-time work was very difficult. At times I preferred dropping out of college and working full-time to purchase myself the things I wanted. My brother always explained to me that things take time. Slowly and surely I would be able to accomplish it, but first my goal was to focus on school, and so I did. Things lead to the next and somehow the end of my junior year I was purchasing a home with my boyfriend.
This is still so hard for me to wrap my head around because I had just finished studying abroad fall 2014 and by summer 2015, my boyfriend and I were purchasing a home. That was crazy because I was not working that entire fall so in a matter of months I was able to save up that money to help pay for the costs of purchasing a home. I have learned so many things about being a homeowner and would love to continue sharing some tips with you all.
I have put together some pros and cons on how my experience was of purchasing a home while being in college. It was a very difficult but I feel like in anything else, hard work always pays off. It took a lot of patience to get to where I am today and also a lot of grit. I am still waiting for that moment my parents get to have a place they call their “home” as well.

A Night at the Reno Rodeo
I am not the biggest rodeo fan, but I do like a good time. I went out with some of my friends to tonight’s Reno Rodeo and had a blast! Watching the events was way more fun than I though it was. Alonso and I had gone awhile back (2-3 years ago) and didn’t have a good time because we didn’t actually go inside to watch the rodeo events.
Tonight, I was able to watch some events that included women, men, and even little kids. The little kids’ event was by far the cutest and my favorite. I posted some videos on my Insta Story here. Don’t forget it is only up for 24 hours! There was some bull riding, some barrel races, and a little bit of everything.
If you ever have the time to go out to a local rodeo event, I would suggest going. It’s a great time as well as great food! I wanted to get my favorite dessert, but I didn’t end up getting it. I usually pick up a funnel cake at rodeo events because they are so delicious! The rodeos I usually attend are in my hometown, Yerington, NV.
In Yerington, the rodeo is a little different and way smaller than they are here in Reno. There is a lot more seating as well as booths in Reno than the one in Yerington. However, I would have to say that the food in Yerington is a lot better! If you live in Reno I would suggest attending the Lyon County Fair & Rodeo in August! It will be hosted in Yerington, NV. My favorite event is the demo derby. There is some information here on what events they usually have.

Some of My Favorite Places to Eat in Reno, NV
I would be lying if I said I was the healthiest blogger out there. It’s so hard for me to turn down food, especially when my friends and I go out. I love trying new places and adding them to my go-to list. The places I am sharing with you are only some of my favorite places to eat. I have so many more, and would love to share them with you all.
Blind Onion
Blind Onion has some of the best pizzas here in Reno. They are mostly my favorite because of their crust. They have honey and use it as a dipping sauce for the crust. It may sound super weird, but it’s delicious! I love coming here because they have Chicken Alfredo pizzas and even a Chicken Parmesan one, which are my favorite ones I always order. Their wings are also really good, let’s just say I love everything there.Jüs
I like to stop here after I go to the gym or mornings with my best friends. They have some of the best fresh smoothies an acai bowls. I like how fresh they are and super tasty as well. Some of my favorite things from them are the Strawberry Bliss smoothies and the strawbery acai bowls. The Depot
This is a great place to go out with your friends and grab some drinks or hang out. They have games to help keep you entertained. Their food is amazing, and not to mention their interior design. It is a very appealing place, especially for some “insta pics”. One of my favorite plates to get there is the Chicken Sandwich, it’s yummy!Süp
I love stopping here during my lunch break because it is right in Midtown. They have some of the best soups and sandwiches in Reno. They have outdoor seating, perfect for the spring and summer time. They also serve very quickly! My go-to order is The Club Sandwich and I occasionally order the Chicken Tortilla Soup, it is also one of my favorites. These are four of my favorite places to eat in Reno, NV. Three Favorite Recipes from Laura Vitali
When I first started watching YouTube videos I could not stop watched Laura Vitali. All of her videos are super delicious. She shares some of the most amazing recipes, especially Italian food. I think one of the hardest things to do is deciding what to eat. My boyfriend and I like all types of food, but growing up in a Mexican home I was only accustomed to Mexican food. I had to resort somewhere else to learn other types of recipes. Don’t get me wrong, I always call my Mom when it comes to her Mexican recipes.
Laura Vitali shares different types of recipes, from Italian, Mexican, desserts, and even appetizers. That is why I truly recommend watching her videos because she shares a little bit of everything. I wanted to share with you most of the recipes I have tried and like from her. I also don’t always follow the recipes and end up adding my own taste.
Chicken Tortilla Soup
I follow this recipe pretty well and have to say it is by far the best one. We love making soup for nights that are cold. That really doesn’t happen in the summer, but this past Monday it was very cold, it even started raining. We made it and it was really good as always. Most of the time we don’t use a jalapeno, but if we do we only include a couple of pieces. I don’t like spicy things because my tongue gets very sensitive.Alonso and I have not made these in awhile, now that I think about it. They are so delicious and I never knew there was such an easy way to make them. It was one of those, who would’ve known? moments. I also like how quick it takes to make them. A lot of the times, I think we assume it is easier to just eat out instead of making our own food. It may take a little longer from washing the dishes, but it’s still quick.
If you know me personally, you probably know how much I love pasta. It isn’t the healthiest but it probably is the yummiest. This is one of those easy to do recipes that won’t take much time. I like the sauce that Laura does for this recipe and it all is so authentic. I enjoy making food from scratch. The only thing I dislike about cooking is the dishes part, but you all know that already (lol). Try out the pasta and let me know if you like it just as much.
Those are only some of the amazing recipes that Laura Vitali has on her website and YouTube channel. Let me know in the comments down below what your favorite recipe is!
