• What apps are on my iPhone?

Let’s first start off by saying, do you all also get a little curious of what apps other people use? I sometimes find value in watching/reading these types of videos/blogs. Some people share some really great apps. I thought I would finally share with you what’s on my iPhone.

Majority of the apps I have I normally don’t use. I tried to share with you most of the apps I do use. Please let me know if you want to see a video about how I edit my photos. I didn’t go into detail with those types of apps because I will save that for later 😉.

I also use several types of apps for tracking my expenses, coupons, social media, and even my documents. These are some of my favorite apps, Mint, VSCO, Tiny Scanner, and WordPress. They’re not the most exciting but they are what I use most often. Many of the apps I shared on my video I used in college a majority of the time. I still use them every once in awhile but I also don’t want to delete them because I have purchased them. I hope you can find some helpful apps that I shared with you.

The video is down below. Please also make sure to comment what your favorite app is!

  • IKEA & HOME GOODS HAUL

This past weekend Alonso and I went to a concert in San Jose and stopped on the way back to Ikea and Home Goods in Sacramento. I hadn’t been to their Home Goods before, only Ikea, and it probably became one of my favorite places. In Reno, we have a T.J.Maxx and a Home Goods all in one store. It only has a couple of home decor items and the other half has clothing and the regular items in a T.J.Maxx.

Our intention wasn’t to purchase a ton of home items because we didn’t take the appropriate car. However, I was able to get a couple of little items to decorate around our home. I need to make a trip to Ikea soon to pick up some bigger pieces. The only thing that gets in the way are our floors. We have to redo them but it takes a lot of time and money, of course. We don’t want to purchase a lot of new items if we have to still be moving around the furniture when the floors get done. This is for sure on the bucket list!

Who else struggles with decorating their home? I hope I’m not the only one. This is why it’s such an ongoing process. At times you want to work on the kitchen then you want to work on the living room, bathrooms, etc. I can never make up my mind. This is why things are only halfway finished.
The video below has all of the items we purchased this last weekend. It certainly is a mini haul since we didn’t pick up many items. I’m excited about putting together our home to the way we want it.

Please leave a comment down below what your favorite place to decorate in your home is?

  • Top Go-To Foundations

As many of you (who read my blog) know, I never wore makeup before, but I did however start experimenting when I was 20 or 21. I became a little obsessed (a lot actually) with watching beauty Youtube videos. I started subscribing and being a total fan of all the beauty gurus. I started to buy a lot more makeup and experimenting with it.

I am by no means an expert, but I have been able to try different types of makeup from high end to drug store. I will admit, I have not been so into makeup the past year and a half because I started to simply enjoy my natural skin and used my mornings to relax rather than spend so much time getting ready. That probably sounds surprising to some. I definitely want to do a morning routine so you can see for yourself.. (ooo maybe my next video?)

Below is the list of my top go-to-foundations. They are not in any particular order at all. I have tried all of these foundations and can honestly say they are my favorites. I hope to try more in the future, but don’t think it’s necessary to purchase so many foundations if some days I don’t even wear makeup. That would just be a waste of product. Anyways, let’s get started!

    Too Faced Born This Way
This foundation is one of the latest purchases I’ve made. I bought mine last year around September I want to say. I still have a lot of product in my little bottle. I love the way it applies because it’s not drying or too oily. It blends very well, especially with a beauty blender. I like the coverage and natural look this foundation gives. It is not cakey by any means, which I am not a fan of. I always try to go for the natural look.

L’ORÉAL True Match Super Blendable Makeup
This is one of the first foundations I ever tried. I want to say it was the second one. Nicole Guerriero  used to always rave about it and I lover her, so I had to try it out myself. I completely I agree with her now. It is one of my go-to’s and I will always go back to it. This is one of the foundations I use on the daily I would say. I like to mix it with the NYX CC cream that I used in my recent video. This foundation is also very natural. I think you can build up the coverage. I will be honest, I haven’t tried that. I normally just do one layer and blend it out with my beauty blender.

    Makeup Forever Ultra HD
This foundation is very similar to the Too Faced Born This Way foundation but it has been awhile since I have repurchased it. At one time, this was all I ever used and it gave just enough coverage, while still giving me that natural look. This is a high end foundation and it is normally priced around $43. It’s pretty crazy to think about how expensive makeup is, but I guess beauty does cost, huh?

    L’ORÉAL Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation
I probably should have started off this blog by mentioning the type of skin I have. I would say I am normal to oily, but more on the oily side. It’s not fun at all! Where are my oily girls at? I would much rather be oily than dry. This is why I try to stick with foundations for my skin type and this happens to be one of them. After applying this foundation and blending it, it stays matte. I also use this setting spray with it and it works perfect together.

Those are four of my top go-to-foundations that I have tried and loved. I want to hear what foundations are your go-to’s? Please comment down below!

  • GRWM | Everyday Makeup Look & Outfit

It is finally the perfect season to wear off the shoulder tops! I actually purchased my top from Burlington a year ago, but never got around to wearing it. I do this way too often I feel like. However, I did want to mention that I found a top similar to mine for only $13, from SheIn. They have some pretty great blouses for the spring and summer time, be sure to check them out.

My jeans are some of my favorite go-to-pair from my all time favorite jean store…Express. My favorite pair to purchase from them are the jeggings because they fit perfectly in all areas. This is hard because I have long legs but I am not skinny everywhere so it is sometimes hard to look for jeans that fit me. If you have an Express Outlet near you, I suggest stopping by and checking it out. They usually have the jeans a bit cheaper than the Express store (not always, but sometimes). My booties were a gift, but they are from the brand Madden Girl and currently are very trendy with the peep toe.

Anyways, let’s get to the makeup look! I wanted to create a GRWM video of my everyday makeup. It takes me about 10 minutes to do it I would say, not very long. The thing with makeup is I honestly don’t like wearing much of it. In the video linked below, I did apply a little more foundation than usual because I was going out for a date night. However, mostly everyday I just use the CC cream I mentioned and it works perfect for me. I hate caking on makeup to the point it looks fake because we all (this girl) has zits and I am not afraid to show them. I like to be natural and I even remember my brother always saying how cool it was that I never wore makeup. I didn’t up until I came to college.

Makeup is so much fun, but I just would rather spend my mornings working out or eating than taking my time doing it. I want to create a video on the 5 minute makeup challenge because that is pretty much what I do everyday (lol). I also typically don’t wear lipstick to work either. I did in this video because I seriously bought a ton of lipsticks and have not used any of them. I don’t want to let them go to waste (some already did). I have to start using the beauty products I buy more regularly, someone send me a makeup artist my way.

I hope you guys enjoy the video linked below. Please comment on the video what you would like me to record next (it can be anything :)).

  • Why Should You Study Abroad?

One of the many things I suggest doing while you are a college student is studying abroad. I cannot begin to express the amount of things I have learned about myself from taking on an experience like this. I have always had a goal in my min about studying abroad but never thought it would be possible. I always dreamed of going to Spain, but after seeing many people go, it took away the desire. I wanted to travel to a place no one (I knew) had ever been. This is when the crazy idea of studying abroad in China arose…and I am so happy it did!

First thing I want to mention is that in this blog post I am mostly going to talk about why you should studying abroad, and not necessarily my experience. I can do that on another blog post if you would like to see that. It is actually kind of funny that now (three years later) after having studied abroad I am finally doing what I have always wanted which is blogging. My intention was to travel while I was abroad but that failed with all of the security I had to bypass to even access Facebook while in China. That can be another story for later. There are also other articles that explain the importance of studying abroad: here and here.

One of the reasons why you should study abroad is because of the amount of different types of food you will get to try. I used to be so picky about my food, but boy did that change when I was in China. It is actually kind of funny because I used to hate Chinese food before I left. I am not the complete opposite and love it! Who would have known, right? You get the opportunity to try different meals wherever you decide to study abroad at.

Another reason I suggest studying abroad is because you will get the opportunity to meet and connect with different individuals. I did not do a good job of connecting with those who also studied abroad in the same place as I did. I was going through some difficult things at the time and did not have any intention of meeting “friends” (don’t do this). However, I did want to meet friends and people that resided in Shanghai, so I did that! I recommend doing that because they get to tell you more about the country they grew up in and you get to also learn more of the language by speaking to them.

I also was interviewed one time and shared my study abroad experience. I received so much positive feedback from it, which I thought was unusual. I know a lot of people say it looks good on a resume, but I actually never had someone tell me how significant it was. I never tried to study abroad for those reasons at all. However, the compliment was that I was willing to adapt to a different lifestyle and take on the challenge. This meant that with any change in any organization I would be able to adapt. So think about it, studying abroad could perhaps help you get a job as well!

You have the opportunity to see the world in a different way. This is really hard to explain, but once you are abroad you don’t take things for granted. You learn to be on your own and make an effort to appreciate the world we get to live in and travel. It’s seriously so fascinating to see new things and understand a little about the culture you are visiting. I cannot explain it enough, your mind will be blown away that you will love traveling and will want to do it more often.

In the end, studying abroad has many perks. You get to live in a different place and learn a new language. You are accustomed to a new culture that is completely different than what you are used to and that is the beauty of it. You are not afraid of what the unknown has to offer. I was able to learn a lot about myself as a person, grow closer to my family, and not take things for granted. It is a blessing to be able to study abroad. The reason I grew closer to my family is because I was literally living miles away, and missing on so much. I knew that in my heart, what made me the happiest, was being close to them. This is why I knew that after graduation, I wouldn’t get a job out of the state. But don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t mean I still won’t continue to travel…oh I will! I just don’t want to do it alone. I have amazing people around me that I wish to travel with them instead.
