Memorial Day Weekend – Things to Do

I hope I am not the only one that like to rock out in some overalls, or am I? These overalls were gifted to me awhile back but I have included a lot of similar ones at some affordable prices as well! There are some from Forever 21 for less than $30. This weekend was way too busy but I also got a lot of things done as well. I wanted to share with you guys this quick outfit to wear for the warmer weather, as well as some things I do on these long weekends. I also want to mention a thank you to all those who have served and are currently serving for our country. Your work doesn’t go unnoticed!
First off, the biggest task I try to accomplish on a three day weekend is cleaning my home. It can get pretty crazy in my household because I am currently taking a class, working full time, and trying to blog/vlog as well. Therefore, my home ends up being on the last of “to do list” which I hate to admit that, but other things do take priority. I am currently typing this as I sit in our living room and can literally “smell” the cleanliness. I am a sucker for cleaning and love having a clean home so I am super thankful I was able to clean out the house.
Secondly, I love spending time with family on long weekends. I don’t get to do it during the week because I work and go to school. My parents and brothers don’t live too far from me but it still at least a day trip to go visit them. I was able to spend three days there this weekend… BLESSED! I love hanging out with them and I have noticed that the older I get the more I want to spend time with them. For those graduating and wanting to leave, I am sure five years from now you’ll want to come back and live with your parents (haha).
Lastly, one of the things I like to do is accomplish all of errands. For example, grocery shopping, picking up home renovation items, homework, reading, blogging etc. It’s hard to try to do all of these errands during the week but when you have an extra day to try to accomplish these, it is well worth it! I always wish I had three day weekends on the norm, but who am I to try to change the policies (haha). The reason I like to do these things is because it sets me on the right direction for a productive week. I am really busy right now, so the extra time really does come in handy!
So that is pretty much how my long three day weekends usually look like. It would be nice if I told you guys I go on vacation and what not, but let’s be realistic, I really can’t do that right now. Alonso and I have a lot of upcoming projects we need to save for and trips as well. Okay, back to the outfit, I seriously love overalls. Whether they are pants or shorts, I am a big fan of them. I like to wear these in the summer time because they are pretty easy to pair with anything. I was debating wearing sandals or tennis shoes with them. The Nikes obviously won! They are my favorite and are currently on sale as well.

Everyday Work Outfit
If you haven’t guessed it yet, I love wearing jeans and pants to work. It’s seriously my comfort zone. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love dresses and skirts as well, but I also love to stay comfy!
I typically try to not buy as many pants or jeans and instead purchase more tops. It’s easier to try to do that and mix and match the pieces. I seriously need to try to get a blog post up with some mix matching outfits. I try my hardest not to wear the same outfit twice and I think I’ve actually done a good job so far. It can be hard, don’t get me wrong! However, I found this to be the best way so I don’t purchase constantly.
My top is from Forever 21, and it’s pretty thin so I have to wear a tank top underneath. My pants are from American Eagle and are stretchy and comfortable! You have seen my flats all over my Instagram but they are from Target and when I purchased them they were only $13! Yes, I got a steal :).

Favorite Netflix Shows
One of the many reasons why I decided to start watching shows on Netflix is because there are no commercials which I’m not a fan of. i like watching the shows without any interruptions, and more often than not, I tend to binge watch them and not want to stop. Netflix can be a little addicting once you find your favorite shows to watch. Although I don’t always have time, I feel like it’s nice to change it up a bit and watch different things to get you distracted.
Some of these shows you probably already watched, while some you probably haven’t yet watched. These are in no particular order, but all of them are very interesting!
This may be my favorite show of all time. I started watching this in the fall of 2016 and currently waiting to watch the latest season on Netflix. My boyfriend and I went through all three seasons in less than a month I feel like. All of the episodes were very interesting and I loved the suspense. I really hope you enjoy it if you haven’t watched it!
I thought I wouldn’t like this show, but I was wrong. I love all the trials this family faces because it’s a lot that can be relatable. Although there are A TON of graphic (not PG rated) scenes, it’s still a pretty good show. It’s also really funny and you will be surprised how fast you went through the seasons as well.
I am so late to get on the bandwagon here. I never watched Pretty Little Liars until I about a year ago. Yeah, I had a lot of catching up to do. This is another one of my favorites because of the suspense. There is always a plot twist and the overall story is really good. I’m a little sad it is coming to an end, but if you are like me and hadn’t watched it all… DO IT NOW!
4. Queen of the South
I won’t say much here because I am also in the middle of the episodes However, I also think it’s an interesting show with a lot of suspense. I don’t know, I might just have a huge passion for suspense which is why I tend to watch those types of shows over others.
5. 13 Reasons Why
I just finished watching this season and it was pretty intense. I don’t want to spoil it, but I also know there has been a lot of controversy over this show. Many think their children shouldn’t watch it, but a lot of the things that happened do happen in real life. It is also one of those shows that you can’t wait for the next season because the last show leaves you wondering.
6. Stranger Things
I’m so happy this show got MTV Show of the Year. I’m not even sure how to explain this show, but just to simply say, watch it. Although this show didn’t have many episodes it will have another season for sure.
Overall, there are many great shows on Netflix with many reviews. I tend to like the suspense shows a lot more than the drama ones. However, I am open to any suggestions. Comment down below what your favorite Netflix shows are.
A Bit of Rustic Orange

I just recently attended an event here in Reno where I was able to meet other bloggers from the community. The Biggest Little Fashion Truck, Panty Drop, and Liberty Food and Wine Exchange hosted the event. It was such a fun event and it was the first time I had ever heard of The Biggest Little Fashion Truck. I was able to check out some of their inventory and let me just start off by saying.. I’m in LOVE. They have pretty much my go to pieces for the styles I like.
I was also able to meet the owner, Britton. I’m so proud of this local business, and I’m completely inspired because this is something I would one day like to start as well. My own little boutique, but that will have to wait a little longer. In the meantime, I think it is super important to support our local entrepreneurs. I’m excited to continue exploring more local shops here in Reno.
My top in this outfit is from BLFT, and I purchased it for less than $25, great price! I love how flowy and long it is because it covers my booty. Follow them on their social media so you know where their next event is. I love shirts like that. The reason I picked it up is because first off, I love stripes, and secondly, because of the neck choker detail. It is so easy to pair it with jeans, shorts, leggings, etc.
I was on the lookout for jeans like these, and was so happy that American Eagle had them on discount. I was able to purchase them for $29 (still on sale). They are trending right now and honestly, fit perfectly. FYI – they are low rise. My bomber jacket is from OOTDFash and although they don’t have mine on the website anymore, I linked a similar one. I have a 15% discount with them, just use PATTYG15!

Workout Outfits – Where to Shop At?

I love to wear workout outfits pretty much any day that I can. Leggings are very comfortable and very convenient for days that require running errands for the majority of the day. I wanted to share with you some places where I have shopped before and have found some pretty affordable pieces that I wear when I work out. However it does very and there are of course, other places that also sell affordable pieces.
JcPenney carries several brands, but the good thing is that they constantly have discounts. Most of the leggings I have are from the brand Xersion. They vary from price, but you can get some workout pants for less than $20. They also have some tops that are great for the gym.
T.J.Maxx has some sneaky finds all the time. I love shopping here because they always have different items and it’s affordable too! I also like how they carry equipment for working out as well. Most of the bottoms are around $20. The tops are also usually fairly affordable as well.
This online store also carries a variety of different brands from Reebok to Nike and even Adidas. I have also purchased shoes from 6pm and got them for less than $60. I would suggest keeping your eyes open on this site because they also have different kinds of discounts.
That sums up some of the different stores I shop at for workout clothes. I wanted to share with you different stores that most people probably don’t know or shop at for workout clothes.
