• How to Shop for Work Clothes

I wanted to share a work outfit on the blog and give you some tips on how to shop for your wardrobe. I also plan on sharing more outfits for work since it’s what I mostly wear during the week.

    TIP #1:
Purchase solid color bottoms, whether that be slacks, skirts, or cropped pants like the ones I mostly wear in the summer (check out my Instagram) for recent looks! By purchasing a solid color, it makes it easier to match any type of blouse. Of course, I also have random print pants for work as well (can’t help! Love polka dot pants).

    TIP #2:
Have at least 1-2 blazers in your wardrobe. Whether that be a solid black one or a grey one (or even a colored one). Blazers always put together outfits for work (more professional). I love blazers but those do get pretty pricey. Sometimes it is best to invest in a good one OR be on the lookout for sales. I purchased mine when I used to work at Ann Taylor Factory (only $20, originally $150). If you have your favorite stores, check up on them and see when items like blazers are marked down. If you can’t seem to find a blazer, no problem, use a cardigan! They are very similar and a lot cheaper. With cardigans, I suggest having pop of colors that complete you outfit. Simply, wear a white, black, or grey top and a pop of color with your cardigan… and woahla! You have yourself an outfit.

    TIP #3:
Last tip is stock up more on shirts! The more shirts you have the more outfits you can create. Don’t purchase a lot of shirts that don’t go with the bottoms you have. Make sure you keep in mind what items you already have in your closet when you are looking to shop for blouses. With shirts you could always change up your outfit by simply wearing a blazer or cardigan, a different necklace, and a different bottom. No one will realize you wore the same white blouse as the week before :).

Here are some links to some of the places to shop at for work clothes. I also suggest the outlets stores for Express, Banana Republic, and Ann Taylor.

    1. Express Pants
    2. Old Navy Blouse
    3. Express Blouse
    4. Target Blazer (only $20.99)

  • Fourth of July Look

Shirt | old (Kohl’s, Similar) ; shorts (Bought them in China) ; Jeans (TJMaxx) ; heels (CR, Similar, ) ; Shoes (Vans

    Hello!

Super late on this look (I know). Sadly I had saved a draft of this post and accidentally deleted it! ☹️ All my pictures were on my laptop and I was away this weekend. But never too late, there’s always next year’s Fourth of July! I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday. I love spending time with my family and if I could be with them everyday I would! 😊  I figured two looks (one glam & one casual) would be the best idea in case you don’t want to be so glam or do.

  • “Get To Know Me” Tag

     Hello Everyone!

I figured I would do a tag to get to know me a little bit more and some of the things I like. I hope you enjoy!

    Are you named after anyone?
    1. I’m not really named after anyone in particular, BUT my mom always says my dad picked out my name. However, she says it was the name of one of my dad’s ex-girlfriends, (but he says that isn’t true). I always get a kick out of it when we talk about this :).

    2. When was the last time you cried?
The last time I cried was probably two weeks ago. When I talk about my grandma I start to relive everything and that is always a trigger for some tears. Death is never easy to deal with and especially at the time it happened, it still is hard. My boyfriend is such a positive and happy person and crying is always hard when all he makes me do is laugh.

    3. Do you have kids? No, but I do have two sweet beautiful princesses (nieces) and I do love them like if they were my own.

    4. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
I think I would. I really do strive to be good to others, I’m not sure how well I am doing at that, we would have to ask my girlfriends :).

    5. Do you sarcasm a lot?
Uhmm, of course! Especially with my girlfriends, we always get a laugh out of it. It comes from a good heart, I promise!

    6. Will you ever bungee-jump?
Of course! I have already skydived and it was such a blast! I think bungee-jumping is more intimidating but I bet the thrill is amazing.

    7. What is your favorite cereal?
Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch

    8. What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Their energy and personality. It sounds awkward but I love meeting people that have a positive, uplifting, and loving life personality.

    9. What is your eye color?
I want to say dark dark brown.

    10. Scary movie or happy endings?
Happy endings 🙂 But if I’m watching it during the day then a scary movie. I have to be holding someone’s hand if I’m watching a scary movie at night.

    11. Favorite smells?
Anything that has a fresh scent, gas, and the smell of permanent markers… I know gross, huh?

    12. Summer or winter?
Winter… except the driving in winter. I just love the cute fall/winter outfits and the holidays.

    13. Computer or television?
Computer and then watch my tv shows on there 🙂

    14. What’s the furthest you’ve ever been from home?
When I studied abroad in China.

    15. Do you have any special talents?
I like to think I pick up learning different languages pretty quickly but I’ve only ever tried to learn one other, besides English and Spanish. I didn’t have any talents growing up either, but I did play a lot of sports and can pole vault!

    16. Where were you born?
I was born in Reno, Nevada and grew up in Yerington, Nevada.

    17. What are your hobbies?
Watching YouTube, checking out new blogs, posting on my own blog, watching literally only like 2-3 TV shows, online shopping, playing with my nieces, working out, hanging out with my sisters and friends, checking out new restaurants with my boyfriend, but out of all my hobbies my favorite is spending time with my family

    18. Do you have any pets?
No and I doubt I will have any. If you count, I gave my parents a puppy, and he is the cutest!

    19. Favorite movie?
Pitch Perfect, all the Marvel movies, If I Stay (I cried the entire movie while watching it in the flight to China)

    20. Do you have any siblings?
I have an older brother and a younger brother. I also have amazing sorority sisters all over the country.

    21. What do you want to be when you grow up?
It’s hard to answer that because I think being so young my mind changes a lot. I just want to be happy, successful, and have a family with my boyfriend.

If you have any other types of questions do not hesitate in emailing me or commenting on this post. I used Ysis Lorenna’s tag and tag you to do the 21 questions!

  • Mint Green Shorts

    t-shirt |  Old Navy
shorts | similar here , here, and here
    sandals | Old Navy

This weather is calling for t-shirts and shorts. It is getting pretty warm here in Reno! I’m not much of a “lay in the sun” type of person. I get hot, sweaty, and tan fairly quickly (in minutes). However, what makes outfits like this a little more put together, is the type of shoe. This outfit would look great with some brown wedges or a simple sandal like the ones I am wearing. Speaking of sandals, while I was trying to find the ones I have on I found a super expensive but IDENTICAL pair (different color) for around $450, link here. Mine were about $17 since they were on sale when I purchased them. The ones I linked are a different color, but from the same store I purchased them at. I really hope you don’t buy a pair of $450 sandals!…. that is just a bit ridiculous hahaha.

    Hope you enjoy!

Happy Wednesday and happy first day of June!

I apologize for the lack of posts! But I finally decided to get ready and wear this casual outfit for a busy Saturday. I personally enjoy wearing strappy heels, and they are probably one of my favorite type of heels. I always struggle finding shirts to wear, but Old Navy always has the best casual shirts to wear! If you haven’t ever shopped there, I would take a look. They have affordable cute tops, as well as some of the most comfy jeans.
