Ulta Haul Review

I must first admit, I am a true lover of beauty related YouTube videos. I am constantly learning so much about what new products are out there, which ones are affordable, which ones are “must haves”, etc. This can be a bad thing because like my friends and I have realized, we are constantly wanting to purchase more products. However, I have always tried to keep my makeup collection to a minimum as to not waste any and because although I might love watching makeup videos, I normally wear very minimal makeup. I thought I would go ahead and add an in depth review of the products I recently purchased from my Ulta haul on my blog. I also created a YouTube video on my channel here, if you want to head over there and check a quicker review of the products.
I want to start incorporating a little bit of everything here and share a couple more beauty related posts of reviews of products I love and are affordable. It can be hard finding products that are around your budget and minimalistic. Some of these products I hold true to my heart and would continue repurchasing them, while others I wanted to test out and see if they could have potential of becoming a “must have.”
I must note that makeup was never my thing and I never (maybe once or twice) wore makeup in high school or middle school. I started to learn more about it my first year of college. Till this day, I am still learning how to apply it, it’s a work in progress. However, I do think it is fun to mix it up and play around with the different types of products. So enough rambling and let’s get started with the review.
- Kirkland Signature Daily Facial Towelettes
These towelettes are not from Ulta but I did purchase them the same day and thought I would share with you since it is beauty related. I have never really been a fan of makeup removing wipes because I always felt like the makeup never came off and you always needed a cleanser every time. This is the second time I picked up these wipes from Costco and I think these became a “must have” product for me. These wipes are very gentle on the skin and they will not irritate your eyes. I use both sides of the towelette and find that it takes off all my makeup, especially my eyelashes from the mascara. If you have a Costco card I would suggest checking these out, you get a lot more for the price. - CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser
I am currently going through a new skincare routine and have just ran out of a cleanser. The skincare routine I am using is a three step process and I will be creating a blog post or a video on it because it has really worked for me. Anyways, I did some research and wanted to look for a cleanser that was similar to the cleanser from the three step process. This one ended up being the winner and I love it. This is my first time using it and I love how soft and gentle it feels on the skin. I need to keep using it and see if it hydrates some dry patches I have on my face. My skin type is oily, but I do sometimes have dry patches from constantly touching my face and rubbing it. - L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara
Out of all of the mascaras I have tried, I do have to say that this one is my favorite of all time. One of the main reasons I love it is because it does not leave residue or flakes on my under eye. I also do love how thin the wand is making it easy to apply to the lower lash. This mascara does make my eyelashes look longer and not clumpy (who doesn’t love that!?), and it is very affordable. - Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer
I have already mentioned this concealer in one of my December Favorites from last year. It is still one of my favorite concealers. However, recently I haven’t been wearing any concealer and I have been loving the way my makeup comes out. This concealer is creamy and it does cover your under eyes if you have dark circles. - Maybelline FaceStudio Master Prime Blur + Smooth Primer
I have tried many primers but I haven’t seem to find any that I truly like. Please let me know in the comments below primers you recommend for oily skin. I have tried this primer twice now and I like it. I decided to pick it up again because I like the way it makes my skin feel smooth before applying foundation, however I don’t think it really blurs my imperfections. - L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Foundation
This was my first time trying this product and I have mixed feelings about it. The texture is very different when it comes out of the tube. It feels like a mousse but once you apply it to the skin it is lightweight. I don’t feel like it necessarily covered up my imperfections. I felt like a regular lightweight foundation. I only tried it once so perhaps after trying it a couple more times I will get used to it. - Maybelline Color Sensational The Loaded Bolds Lip Color – Mauve It
I love this color and this lipstick! I tried it on yesterday and I feel in love with it. It glides on to the lips really easy. I used a lip balm before applying it and let it dry. It is a demi-matte finish meaning it doesn’t dry out your skin and it doesn’t come off quick like a lipgloss. The color is a mauvy color and it goes with anything! - NYX Cosmetics BB Cream
The reason I decided to pick this product up is because I want to try a BB cream for an everyday makeup look and leave my foundations for special occasions. This BB cream is lightweight and it doesn’t cover a lot but that’s what I like. It is one of those products that you want to use when you are running late or don’t want to wear that much makeup. - Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Set
This is the only beauty blender I use and I love how affordable it is if you buy two instead of one. I know some retail for around $20 for just one, so this is a good deal. It applies my foundation very smoothly and doesn’t leave streaks. It is also really good for concealer under the eye. My old one was very dirty and when it’s dirty and cracked it starts losing its purpose so it was time for a new one.
I am so sorry this post was long, but I wanted to make sure I went through each product in detail. I hope you enjoy and please check out my YouTube channel for the Ulta Haul, here.
