Welcome to my teaching portfolio. My my teaching philosophy is rooted in student-centered learning, active engagement, and inclusive empowerment. I view the classroom as a collaborative environment where students share ideas, question assumptions, and connect academic concepts to real-world challenges.
Core Pillars of My Teaching Philosophy
Flipped Classroom Model: I move foundational lectures outside of class so that active class time can be reserved for dynamic, student-led debates, small group discussions, and role-play simulations.
Experiential Learning: Drawing from my background as a Business Systems Analyst III at Sierra Nevada Corporation and IT application specialist, I bring real-world frameworks (like Scrum, agile, and data modeling) directly into the classroom to translate theory into practice.
Inclusive & Culturally Responsive Classrooms: I intentionally design course content and assessments to ensure that diverse voices and lived experiences are represented, respected, and valued.

Business Communications (Asynchronous, Hybrid, & In-Person) — Developed essential managerial communication, high-impact business writing, and executive presentation delivery skills.
Digital Transformation (In-Person) — Explores how modern organizations leverage emerging enterprise technologies and change management to drive strategy.
Management of Information Systems (Graduate) — Leverages my IT and management background to teach data-driven decision-making and business technology frameworks.

Teaching Philosophy and Mentorship
Beyond formal courses, I am deeply committed to guiding and empowering emerging professionals and scholars:
Community Mentorship: I provide long-standing, impact-driven guidance as a Nevada Promise Scholarship Mentor (2018–Present) and formerly led as the President of the College of Business Peer Mentors.
Research Mentorship (UNR): As the Coordinator of Research, Education, and Outreach at the University of Nevada, Reno, I supervised and actively mentored undergraduate students and interns, guiding their independent research projects and final presentations for Wolf Pack Discoveries.
